Pagani

Horacio Pagani moved from Argentina to Italy in 1983 to work at Lamborghini, where he became a pioneer of carbon fibre construction in production vehicles. After a decade perfecting his craft and nurturing his ambition, he founded Pagani Automobili S.p.A. in 1992. The debut Zonda C12, unveiled at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show, astonished the world with its sculptural bodywork and a Mercedes-AMG V12 that produced 394 bhp. Successive Zonda variants pushed power toward 800 bhp while retaining the car's fundamental ethos of artisan construction and visceral involvement. The Huayra followed in 2011 with active aerodynamic flaps and a 730 bhp twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre AMG V12. In 2022 the Utopia was revealed as a deliberate return to analogue purity, a manual gearbox, a twin-turbocharged V12, and minimal electronic intervention at a time when the industry was rushing toward electrification.
