History
Mazda Speed developed the 787B from the 767B with the four-rotor R26B. In 1991 Volker Weidler, Johnny Herbert, and Bertrand Gachot won Le Mans outright. The Group C formula ended the following year.
On track
The 1991 Le Mans win is the entire story. No other rotary has won the race, and no other Japanese manufacturer had won it before Toyota in 2018.
