The story

The Jaguar F-Type is the modern two-seat sports car that Jaguar fans had waited 40 years for as a spiritual E-Type successor, available with supercharged V6 or V8 engines ranging from 340 to 575 hp in the SVR specification. Its exhaust sound, especially in V8 manual form, is considered among the most theatrical of any production car. The F-Type SVR achieved 200 mph and represented Jaguar's most focused performance car of the modern era.

Combined with its dramatic styling, it represents Jaguar's most emotionally engaging product of the 21st century.

History

Premiered at Paris 2012 and entering production as a 2013 model, the F-Type arrived first as a convertible, with the coupe following in 2014. The SVR variant of 2016 used a 575 hp supercharged 8, AWD, and aerodynamic upgrades including a fixed rear wing. A Project 7 limited edition with 575 hp paid homage to the Le Mans D-Type. The F-Type received substantial exterior and interior updates for 2020, refining but maintaining the car's core character.

On track

The F-Type has participated in various motorsport events, showcasing its performance capabilities. Jaguar has used the F-Type as a platform to demonstrate its engineering excellence in competitive settings.
