The Ferrari 250 GTO was developed as a race car that could also be driven on the road, combining the best of both worlds. It was engineered by Giotto Bizzarrini and later refined by Mauro Forghieri and Sergio Scaglietti. The car's aerodynamic bodywork and powerful V12 engine made it a dominant force in racing during the early 1960s. Only 36 units were produced, making it one of the most sought-after and valuable classic cars in the world.
