History
The BMW M1 was conceived in the mid-1970s as a homologation special for sports car racing. BMW partnered with Lamborghini for the engineering and production of the car, but financial difficulties at Lamborghini led to delays. Eventually, BMW took over the project, and the M1 was produced by various contractors. Despite its limited racing success, the M1 became an iconic sports car due to its advanced engineering and design by Giorgetto Giugiaro.
