The story
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is the car that served notice that Alfa Romeo was a serious performance manufacturer again, a rear-wheel-drive sports sedan powered by a Ferrari-co-developed 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 producing 505 hp. At its 2016 launch it held the fastest-ever production sedan lap time at the Nürburgring at 7:32, beating the BMW M3 and all direct competitors. Its chassis dynamics were designed by former Ferrari engineers and it showed.

History
The Giulia name revives one of the most important Alfa Romeo lineages, the original Giulia ran from 1962 to 1978 and won countless motorsport championships. The new Giulia returned Alfa Romeo to rear-wheel drive for the first time in decades and was developed with direct technical input from Ferrari's Maranello engineering center. The Giorgio platform underpins both Giulia and the Stelvio SUV. A standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder Giulia launched alongside the Quadrifoglio to provide volume.
