Aston Martin Lagonda is a British manufacturer of luxury and high-performance sports cars. Founded in 1913, the brand embodies the essence of classic British style, perhaps most famously represented by the DB5 driven by James Bond. Aston Martin produces the Vantage, DB12, DBS, DBX SUV, and the ultimate Valkyrie hypercar.

History
Lionel Martin began racing a car he and Robert Bamford built up Aston Hill near Tring, giving the brand its name. The company changed hands many times through the 1920s and 1940s before billionaire David Brown acquired it in 1947, the source of the famous DB designation. The DB4, DB5, and DB6 of the 1960s became the definitive British sports cars. The V8 Vantage and Zagato variants in the 1980s sustained the brand. Ford purchased Aston Martin in 1987, and under Ford ownership came the DB7 (1994) and DB9 (2004). Ford sold the company in 2007 to a consortium. Subsequent ownership changes and near-bankruptcies have made Aston Martin financially fragile. Lawrence Stroll acquired a controlling stake in 2020, linking the road car brand with the Formula 1 team.

Aston Martin won the 1959 World Sportscar Championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans through its DBR1 programme. Roy Salvadori, Carroll Shelby, and Stirling Moss drove for the factory team. After decades away from factory motorsport, Aston Martin returned to Le Mans GT class racing in 2005 with the DBR9. The Vantage GT3 and GT4 programmes achieved multiple class victories at Le Mans and in the GTD/GTWCE series. Since 2021 Aston Martin has been a full Formula 1 constructor under the Stroll family ownership.
